Giving Tuesday

We have an important opportunity!

2019 had been a busy year for the Rural Chaplains Association. Much of the year was spent by the Core Leadership Team preparing for our Focus Event in Colorado in August. While it seemed as though it took forever to arrive, now we are looking back at the event having been completed over 3 months ago. Where does the time go?

2019 had been a busy year for the Rural Chaplains Association. Much of the year was spent by the Core Leadership Team preparing for our Focus Event in Colorado in August. While it seemed as though it took forever to arrive, now we are looking back at the event having been completed over 3 months ago. Where does the time go?

Now the planning team is looking ahead to Fall of 2020 and our next Focus Event, which will probably take place in October in Southeastern Ohio in the North Central Jurisdiction. While the date has not yet been finalized, it will be soon, and we will get the word out so folks can plan to join us.

Today I want to take just a moment and lift up Tuesday, December 3, 2019. December 3 is the date for what has become known as “GIVING TUESDAY”. As we approach the end of 2019, I encourage those who support RCA to consider making a contribution to RCA on Giving Tuesday. It does cost money to be involved in supporting our Rural, Town and Country communities, churches, laity, and clergy. While we at RCA do our best to be good stewards of the funds that we receive, we are constantly looking for ways that we can be more effective with our resources.

Gifts to RCA are tax deductible and can be made in a variety of ways. If you go to the RCA Website: rcahome.org you can make a donation by credit card or by bank transfer. Or, you can go to: advanceumcmission.org and click on the search option. When you get to search, you will click on Region, choose Global, and then in the keywords box type 982740, which is the Advance Special Project Number for RCA. You then can make a contribution by credit card.

One option that many of us who have been around for a few days can also choose is to write a check to GBGM and specify on it that it is for Advance Project 982740, Rural Chaplains Association and mail it to:

Advance GCFA                                                                                                                          P.O Box 9068                                                                                                                  New York, NY 10087-9068

If you would like, you also have the option of calling GBGM at: 800-862-4246 and making your contribution by credit card on the phone.

I personally like to donate through Giving Tuesday and GBGM, because it has the added benefit of ensuring that RCA keeps enough funds flowing through the Advance to maintain our status as an approved Advance Special. However, there is one more method you may choose. You can always write a check to RCA and mail it to: David Ruesink, 1851 Carroll Fancher Way, Apt. 642, College Station, Texas 77845. Dave is our Treasurer and would be happy to care for your contribution. As you consider your year end giving, won’t you please consider a gift to RCA?

Thanks,

Roger
